Last week I had to go down to the DMV to change some information on a vehicle title. It was a Monday at about 10:30 am when I arrived. I figured most people would be at work at this point. Man was I wrong. The line literally came out the door and wrapped around half of the building. It was a really sunny day too. Falling to the back of the line not long after it snaked even farther down the sidewalk. Ten minutes turned to twenty and I still was waiting to get my first glimpse inside. A young teen had done it right. He sat on one of the outdoor benches playing his Nintendo DS Lite to pass the time. As the line moved, he scooted down the bench.
Some people loudly talked to friends on their phone, I stood there looking into space and this kid got lost in the world of a Nintendo DS Lite. After we got a ticket to see a DMV employee there was more waiting. Again this kid sat with his eyes buried into the Nintendo DS Lite. Time must have been flying for him but it felt stopped for me.
